About Richard Corelli, MD

Dr. Richard Corelli specializes in adult psychiatry, specifically mood disorders, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders and life transitions, including divorce and loss.

He’s passionate about spending time in talk therapy with his patients rather than providing a “quick fix’’ through psychiatric medication.

Dr. Corelli’s approach to care is focused on talking with patients to gain insight into their strengths and vulnerabilities so he can provide the best treatment strategies. He believes that psychotherapy takes patience and time — sometimes a lot of time. His approach to therapy is to help each patient recognize stressful patterns and make long-term changes so they can live life more fully.

When needed, Dr. Corelli can provide psychiatric medication in addition to psychotherapy.

Dr. Corelli, who was trained at Stanford University, has been in practice for more than 35 years. He enjoys working at El Camino Health because its excellent staff is dedicated to patient care.
