Vijaya Dudyala, MD

Dr. Vijaya Dudyala specializes in internal medicine, providing care for adults and seniors, including preventive care, lipid management, asthma, hypertension and stress management. She practices with El Camino Health Primary Care and is affiliated with El Camino Medical Associates.

She’s passionate about taking the time to listen carefully to her patients' concerns so she can provide the best options for medical care. "A physician's job is much more than just treating illnesses and diseases," she says. "Compassion and empathy are equally important."

Believing that a strong partnership between doctor and patient leads to the best medical outcomes, she explains complex medical issues to her patients in terms they understand. She also focuses on preventive care to keep her patients healthy over the long term.

Dr. Dudyala was born and raised in India and speaks English, Hindi and Telugu. Before specializing in primary care, Dr. Dudyala cared for critically ill patients as a hospitalist, which gave her an understanding of the complex issues facing patients with chronic illnesses. She has been practicing medicine in the Bay Area since 2003.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Dudyala enjoys hiking with her husband, son and daughter. She also makes time for meditation and yoga.
