Zahida Tayyib, MD

Dr. Zahida Tayyib’s background in internal medicine and psychiatry gives her a deep understanding of the connection between the mind and body. She uses this understanding to teach her patients about how the mind-body connection impacts their overall health and well-being. She is passionate about understanding human behavior, and is especially interested in cross-cultural psychiatry. 

Dr. Tayyib's private practice includes comprehensive individual, family and group therapy with highly skilled licensed therapists for dual diagnosis and mental health issues. She is very effective in handling chemical dependency and dual diagnosis, including opiate withdrawal. Staff members in her practice speak Spanish, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Polish and Russian.

Dr. Tayyib is a pioneer in using transcranial magnetic stimulation for noninvasive treatment of adult patients suffering from major depressive disorder who failed to achieve satisfactory improvement with previous antidepressant medication treatment.

Dr. Tayyib treats her patients with compassion and believes that spending time with them and their families is an integral part of care. She chooses to practice psychiatry at El Camino Health because of the support and respect she receives in treating her patients.
