Magnet Champion Council Message

Letter from the Magnet Champion Council

The Magnet Recognition Program® has been managed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) throughout the United States and the world. El Camino Health has a long history of Magnet Recognition dating back to 1991, as one of the original 41 Magnet Hospitals designated after a nationwide study. In 2005, we became the first Magnet hospital in the Bay Area, and followed that achievement with our second and third designations in 2010 and 2015 respectively.

We are very proud that El Camino Health has achieved a fourth consecutive Magnet designation. It is a tremendous accomplishment, and we are grateful for the team of interdisciplinary professionals with whom we partner every day for making it possible. We especially want to express our deep pride in the nursing staff. Their dedication, innovation, care and compassion is reflected in this designation.

The final stage of our Magnet application was the virtual site visit conducted by three ANCC Magnet Program appraisers. Our council prepared a video introducing the appraisers to our organization. We hope you enjoy this video and the 2021 Nursing Annual Report.
