Crossover from IDE Trial CLN0009, Lung Volume Reduction Coil Treatment in Patients with Emphysema (RENEW) Study, IDE G110066
Status: Not Recruiting
Emphysema is a lung disease that limits the movement of air into and out of the lungs, making it harder to breathe. The investigational medical device is called the “RePneu® Coil System” (referred to as the Coil). The Coil is implanted in the airways in the lung, compressing the bullae (large air sacs) in the most diseased portion of the lung. This allows the diaphragm to work properly, and the remaining healthier portions of the lung to expand and function more efficiently. This study provides the Lung Volume Reduction Coil procedure to qualifying subjects who were enrolled as Control Subjects in and completed the Lung Volume Reduction Coil Treatment in Patients with Emphysema (RENEW) Study (NCT01608490).
