Labor and birth require a lot of physical and mental preparation. Information covered in this class includes stages of labor, coping and relaxation techniques, labor positions and strategies to promote labor progress and minimize discomfort. Your support team will learn the best ways to help you labor with confidence. You will also learn to make informed decisions about pain medication and medical interventions.
Furthermore, using many styles of the childbirth curriculum, the anatomy and physiology of all stages of labor and birth will be discussed. A review of medical interventions such as inductions, augmentation and cesarean sections (C-sections) are presented. Medications and anesthesia options are also covered.
This class is recommended for pregnant women, partners, expecting parents and should be taken in the last trimester of pregnancy.
