This eight-week Mindfulness–Based program, with instructor Marcy Reynolds, incorporates Qigong to support mindfulness practice. Qigong (pronounced "chi gung"), Chinese energy exercise, although gentle and easy to learn, is a powerful practice suitable for all ages and physical conditions. It relaxes and strengthens the body and mind, releases stagnant energy, revitalizes our inner life-force, and touches the deepest sense of our well-being. Each class begins with mindfulness meditation, transitioning into mindful Qigong movement and culminating with self-reflection through group discussion.
This program incorporates a gentle orientation and is geared for students new to qigong as well as those who want to deepen their practice. Participants experience increased flexibility coupled with a deep sense of relaxation, and the joy of living in the present moment through a variety of methods for identifying and releasing stress. Classes meet for eight sessions, once a week, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visit the Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction Programs for more information.
$250 + $30 material fee ($30 material fee to be paid directly to instructor by cash or check. Please bring to first class).
