Labor and birth require a lot of physical and mental preparation. This class takes you through the stages of labor, providing you with tips and coping techniques to help you each step of the way. You will practice breathing & relaxation techniques, labor positions, and strategies to promote labor progress & minimize discomfort. Your support team will learn the best ways to help you labor with confidence. You will also learn to make informed decisions about pain medication and medical interventions.
Using many styles of childbirth curriculum, the anatomy and physiology of all stages of labor and birth will be discussed. A review of medical interventions such as inductions, augmentation, and cesarean sections (c-sections) are presented. Medications and anesthesia options are also covered.
