A class for mothers after pregnancy. Topics include improving posture and body mechanics to decrease or prevent muscle and joint strain, strengthening pelvic floor and abdominal muscles to improve or prevent urinary leakage, back or pelvic pain, and speed recovery from childbirth.

Pregnancy and childbirth can affect your body and lifestyle, including back pain, joint strain, pelvic pain, and urine leakage. Repetitive tasks such as lifting, feeding, and caring for a baby can cause strain and pain in your body, and pregnancy can cause pelvic pain and weakness.The good news is that with proper training, you can move your body in ways to decrease strain and do strengthening exercises to speed recovery.

This class is taught by a physical therapist certified in pelvic floor therapy. Take charge of your health and learn proper posture and body mechanics for taking care of your baby’s needs without compromising your own well-being, as well as pelvic and abdominal exercises to strengthen your core and pelvic muscles. Join us for a 90 minute training session designed to ease your recovery from childbirth and promote a healthy and happy time with your baby.

This class is for women who have had childbirth; it is not for women who are currently pregnant. Babies are welcome to attend the class.
