Ramesh Gopi, MD

Dr. Ramesh Gopi is the Medical Director of Radiation Safety at El Camino Health enterprise and the president of Silicon Valley Diagnostic Imaging Inc. He utilizes modern imaging techniques to diagnose illnesses and injuries. His expertise is in neuro-radiology, with a focus on Neurodegenerative Disorders of the brain and spine. He is a co-investigator on multiple clinical trials involving the use of advanced MRI and molecular imaging to diagnose Movement Disorders and genetic models of Autism.

Dr. Gopi completed a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with Honors at Caltech and completed his post-graduate radiology training at UCLA Center for Health Sciences and UC San Diego where he co-authored several papers on functional MRI. He applies this background in the physical sciences to minimize operator and patient exposure to radiation during imaging tests. He is interested in the use of informatics and automation to improve patient care and enjoys working closely with his colleagues at El Camino Health to deliver compassionate care to the community.

Dr. Gopi is also a Voluntary Associate Professor at the University of California, San Diego, where he instructs residents, medical students and fellows.

In his leisure time, Dr. Gopi enjoys playing chess, hiking and being a barista.
