In 2007, Sara, 36, suffered a rare stroke (cerebral venous thrombosis) during her first trimester of pregnancy. Although she was having classic stroke symptoms, Sarah and her family didn't realize it was actually a stroke until one side of her face collapsed. She was rushed to El Camino Hospital and was treated by Dr. Peter Fung, stroke program director.
