El Camino Hospital and PRN Announce Agreements to Changes in Registered Nurse Compensation and Benefits

Mountain View, CA - September 18, 2012 – El Camino Hospital and the Professional Resource for Nurses (PRN) today announced that they have reached an agreement on changes to the contract for the hospital’s registered nurses.

"This agreement underscores El Camino's commitment to its registered nurses and highlights the effectiveness of the relationship between PRN and the hospital administration and Board of Directors,” said Patricia Aleshire Briggs, MS, RN, president of PRN.

The contract includes the following compensation and benefits changes:

  • 100% hospital-paid health benefit coverage for employees and their families for the basic plan for eligible registered nurses (RN) with a work status of 0.5 and above; benefits will be prorated for 0.4 nurses.
  • An enhanced 403(b) match for tenured employees at defined service milestones
  • 12% increase in the paid time off (PTO) accrual cap

Further, El Camino Hospital and PRN will collaborate with SEIU in the development of a robust employee wellness initiative and work together to encourage employee participation in the program.
