Partner Spotlight: Almaden Valley Counseling Service
Community Benefit partner Almaden Valley Counseling Service provides counseling and mental health services for at-risk youth at 30 area schools.
Growing up can be stressful under the best of circumstances, and some young people face difficult situations at home, school or in the community. Almaden Valley Counseling Service is a vital partner in helping to reach at-risk young people and provide support, resources and, if needed, therapy to help them process trauma and handle difficult situations.
Almaden Valley Counseling Service provides evidence-based, trauma-informed counseling and crisis intervention at 30 elementary, middle and high schools in the San Jose area. Individual and group therapy sessions are provided at the schools by therapists or, if necessary, through telehealth. All services are free to families.
