Wellness Walks Bring Community Members Together

El Camino Health’s Food is Health Wellness Walks bring people together for fun, camaraderie and healthy physical activity.

We all know physical activity is vital to our health, but getting motivated can still be a challenge. Being active doesn’t necessarily require a gym membership or a rigid exercise program. Make a healthy choice today and sign up for El Camino Health’s Wellness Walks. These monthly walks can help change your perspective and get you started on a healthier lifestyle.

The first Wellness Walk took place on June 14, 2025, and there will be one walk a month for six months through November. The walks are led by one of El Camino Health’s wellness experts, and each walk starts with a brief overview of a health topic. During the walk, you can ask questions related to the health topic. Walk with friends and family — or attend solo and make new friends and connections.

These walks are designed to be welcoming and accessible — perfect for all fitness levels.

“You can get some fresh air, move your body and make meaningful connections in a supportive environment,” says Prajakta Parab-Waingankar, PhD, DipIBLM, heart health coaching coordinator at El Camino Health. “Pairing the walks with our Food is Health Recipe Challenge makes it easy — move more, eat better and feel great!”
