

Breathing shouldn’t be a struggle or a risk. However, many people experience breathing issues when conditions like asthma affect lung health — especially children. If left unchecked, asthma can lead to frequent hospital visits, higher rates of absenteeism from school, and even low self-esteem and confidence.
In response, Community Benefit partner Breathe California of the Bay Area, Golden Gate and Central Coast routinely collaborates with San Jose and Santa Clara County schools, along with additional partners, to offer the Children’s Asthma Services program.

By educating others about lung health and asthma, Breathe California Children’s Asthma Services helps reduce the impact of a chronic respiratory disease in our community — identified as a critical need in the Implementation Strategy Report and Community Benefit Plan.
