Hope to Health Grants Bring Comfort and Care to Women

Hope to Health Grants Bring Comfort and Care to Women
Each year, members of Hope to Health (H2H) come together to turn compassion into action—funding innovative programs at El Camino Health that support the well-being of women, children, and families.
At this fall’s grant meeting, the giving circle awarded nearly $70,000 in new funding, bringing total giving since its founding in 2006 to more than $875,000. These gifts continue to transform patient experiences and strengthen care across the health system. If you’re inspired to make a difference and join this dynamic community of women, learn more at El Camino Health Foundation’s Hope to Health page.
Antepartum Supplies for Expectant Mothers
For women facing high-risk pregnancies, hospital stays can stretch for weeks, often without the comforts of home. This project provides patients with thoughtfully curated care kits—including personal items and activities to ease anxiety—delivered upon hospital admission. More than 300 antepartum patients each year will receive these bags, offering comfort and care during one of life’s most vulnerable times.
Lymphedema Prevention for Breast Cancer Survivors
Lymphedema—swelling that can occur after breast cancer surgery—affects one in five patients and can become a lifelong condition if not detected early. With Hope to Health’s support, El Camino Health’s Cancer Center will add a new advanced digital health system that identifies lymphedema at its earliest stages. Led by Dr. Tran Ho and Dr. Priya Jayachandran, this new technology will allow patients to receive timely, personalized care and prevent long-term complications—bringing peace of mind and better outcomes to hundreds of women.
Skin-to-Skin Care for NICU Babies and Parents
At El Camino Health’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), skin-to-skin contact—known as “Kangaroo Care”—is proven to help premature infants gain weight, develop stronger lungs, and bond deeply with their parents. Yet for many families, specialized wraps that make this possible are in short supply. Hope to Health funding will provide safe, comfortable wraps for all eligible preemie families, giving every baby the chance to feel a parent’s touch—a powerful and tender intervention.
Together, these projects reflect the heart of Hope to Health: women joining forces to uplift one another, their families, and their community. Through nearly two decades of generosity, Hope to Health members have shown that when women give together, they change the way care feels—and the way healing happens.
