CIO Deb Muro Honored at YWCA Tribute to Women

CIO Deb Muro was among 30 women honored at the YWCA's 2024 Tribute to Women Awards in May.

El Camino Health's chief information officer, Deb Muro, was among 30 women honored at the YWCA’s 2024 Tribute to Women Awards on May 2. The event celebrating women leaders was attended by El Camino Health's chief executive officer, Dan Woods, hospital board members Carol Somersille, MD, and Julia Miller, executive director of government and community relations, Jon Cowan and other El Camino Health leaders and team members.

Muro was recognized for promoting mental health, wellness and access to healthcare, having "transformed the consumer and patient experience in Silicon Valley." Muro is responsible for El Camino Health's technology strategy, digital experience, innovation, biomedical engineering and cybersecurity. She has also received the HMG Strategy Global Leadership Institute Award and has been recognized as a Becker's Healthcare "100 Community Hospital CIOs to Know." Muro was also a finalist for a Bay Area CIO ORBIE Award and the Technology Association of Iowa's Women of Innovation Award.

The YWCA Golden Gate Silicon Valley Tribute to Women Awards is an annual fundraising event that supports their mission to eliminate racism and empower women by celebrating women in leadership positions and promoting diversity in professional settings. The awards recognize the achievements of women who have excelled in their fields and have made significant contributions to the Bay Area.
