November 25, 2025 - El Camino Health is recognized by the Silicon Valley Business Journal as #8 among the Top Ten Largest Corporate Philanthropists, and the only hospital on the list. The ranking is based on cash contributed to Silicon Valley charities.

"We're proud to stand alongside these multinational corporations to make the unmet needs in the Silicon Valley Community a priority," said Jon Cowan, executive director of government relations and community partnerships for El Camino Health. "This recognition reflects the work our teams do every day to make healthcare more accessible across the region."
In addition to providing high-quality medical care, El Camino Health gave out more than $3.36 million in grants between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025. El Camino Health charitable awards support its mission to heal, relieve suffering and advance wellness.
Awards are based on the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), which is updated every three years. It identifies these top priorities for charitable giving:
- Healthcare Access & Delivery (including Oral Health)
- Behavioral Health (including Domestic Violence and Trauma)
- Diabetes & Obesity
- Chronic Conditions (other than Diabetes and Obesity)
- Economic Stability (including Food Insecurity, Housing and Homelessness)
Grants awarded to organizations that serve these needs for the youngest citizens to the oldest through programs that include:
- Pre-K-8 school nurse programs.
