October 15, 2018 - El Camino Hospital announced today the appointment of James D. Griffith to the position of chief operating officer. His start date is October 29, 2018.
The chief operating officer is the executive leader responsible for smooth and efficient operations of El Camino Hospital, including all clinical service lines, facilities and construction development, nursing operations, and performance improvement processes. Mr. Griffith will partner with the chief medical officer and chief nursing officer to advance high-quality outcomes, patient safety and patient experience at both hospital campuses in Los Gatos and Mountain View. In addition, he will lead the work in implementing the strategic plan and focus on new business opportunities that enable growth.

Mr. Griffith has nearly 20 years of healthcare experience. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer and chief strategy officer for Tanner Health System in Carrollton, Georgia. Previously, Mr. Griffith spent almost 15 years at Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System in Salinas, California where he was responsible for operations, physician relations, business development and strategic initiatives. He received his bachelor’s degree from University of Tennessee at Knoxville and master’s degree from Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California.
