El Camino Hospital Welcomes New Chief Medical Officer

June 28, 2016 - El Camino Hospital announced today the appointment of William K. Faber, MD, MA, MHCM to the position of Chief Medical Officer for its hospitals located in Mountain View and Los Gatos. He will assume this role on August 1, 2016.

In his role as Chief Medical Officer at El Camino Hospital, Dr. Faber will be responsible for patient quality and safety, physician relations and medical staff leadership development. He will help advance the vision for patient and family experience. He will also partner on the use of transforming technology to support and enhance patient care.

Prior to joining El Camino Hospital, Dr. Faber served as senior vice president with General Electric (GE) Healthcare Camden Group in Chicago. He is a physician executive who specializes in the healthcare quality, medical staff development, accountable care organizations, clinically integrated networks, and health information technology.

Throughout his over 30-year medical career, Dr. Faber served in many senior leadership roles including several with Advocate Health Care, located in Oakbrook, Illinois. Advocate is recognized as one of the leading integrated health care delivery networks in the United States and one of the Midwest’s largest networks. During his 13 years with the organization, Dr. Faber’s served as Medical Director for Credentials, Peer Review and Quality Improvement Education, Regional Medical Director and Senior Medical Director.

Dr. Faber received his medical degree, as well as his master’s degree in medical ethics, from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. He holds a master of science in health care management from Harvard School of Public Health and is Board certified in Family Medicine and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Hinsdale Family Practice in Hinsdale, Illinois. Dr. Faber is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, as well as several other professional and community organizations.
