Los Gatos Campus Construction Update

Construction crews have completed and opened an enlarged operating room in Los Gatos to accommodate advanced spine and robotic assisted surgeries. The newly remodeled operating room houses larger surgical equipment and accommodates longer surgical cases.

“As part of the planning, we visited other hospitals to see how other spine programs accommodated their operating rooms,” says Sheila Eason, Interim Director of Perioperative Services at Los Gatos. “There was detailed planning for IT, electrical, and HVAC, among other things.”

“I have been using the operating rooms for spine surgery for several years. A larger well-equipped room will facilitate the efficiency and safety with which complex spine cases can be performed,” says Sandeep Gidvani MD, orthopedic spine surgeon.

Our Los Gatos campus earned the Gold Seal of Approval for spinal fusion surgery from The Joint Commission, a healthcare accrediting organization. Both campuses are recognized for spine surgery expertise and quality by Blue Shield of California, earning designation as a Blue Distinction Center®.
