Otolaryngology (ENT) (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)

Position Summary

El Camino Health Medical Network is seeking a dedicated and patient-centered Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our Otolaryngology (ENT) team. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients with a wide range of ear, nose, and throat conditions in both outpatient and procedural settings. The APP will work collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff to deliver comprehensive care, enhance patient outcomes, and support practice growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including history, physical exams, and interpreting diagnostic tests (e.g., audiograms, imaging studies, allergy testing) Diagnose and manage acute and chronic ENT conditions (e.g., sinusitis, hearing loss, tonsillitis, allergies, thyroid disorders)
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians Perform in-office procedures as needed including cerumen removal, assisting with nasal endoscopy, and other minor ENT procedures.
  • Provide comprehensive care before and after surgical procedures and addressing any complications or concerns.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and preventative care
  • Ensure timely and precise documentation of all patient interactions in the electronic medical records (EMT) system, adhering to practice standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including audiology, speech therapy, primary care, and other specialists to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with clinical guidelines
  • Assist providers with surgical procedures as needed, ensuring patient safety and proper sterilization protocols are followed

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current, unrestricted NP or PA license in the state of practice
  • Board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and procedural skills, with the ability to assess and manage a variety of ENT conditions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience in Otolaryngology, Allergy/Immunology, or Primary Care
  • Familiarity with ENT-specific procedures, equipment and medical terminology
  • Experience with EMR systems
