Message from the Foundation President

All of us can be proud of the exceptional, nationally recognized care El Camino Health delivers to our community – care that your donations support and that consistently earns honors and awards.

Our hospitals earned several more distinctions over the summer:

  • Recognition by Newsweek as one of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals for the third year in a row.
  • Get With the Guidelines® - Gold Plus Stroke Award for dedication to ensuring all stroke patients have access to best practices and life-saving care.
  • Platinum Performance Achievement Award for the seventh consecutive year recognizing El Camino Health as one of the nation’s top performing hospitals for treatment of heart attack patients.

The commitment to better health also extends into the communities we serve. In July, the healthcare district and health system allocated $11.15 million in grants and sponsorships to expand healthcare access and delivery, and support behavioral health programs, diabetes and obesity programs, programs to address other chronic conditions such as asthma and hypertension, and agencies that help improve economic stability or provide food and housing assistance. In August, El Camino Health became the Official Healthcare Partner of San Jose State Athletics. Besides elevating healthcare for athletes and students, the two organizations will team up on community health and education events.

Your contributions give El Camino Health additional resources to provide this exceptional care. From investments in cancer diagnosis and treatment to leadership in maternal mental health, from a best-in-class Center for Women & Newborns to a special reading program for infants in intensive care, generous support such as yours fuels the perpetual innovation and improvement upon which excellence rests.

As we welcome the cool weather of fall and look forward to the holiday lights of November and December, we thank you for the donations that give the light of hope and encouragement to patients, their families, and clinical staff.

With best wishes,

Andrew T. Cope
