The FY 2027 Community Benefit Grant application period opened last week. We are accepting grant applications now through February 2026. The funds are to support health initiatives that take place between July 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027.
El Camino Health is excited to announce the opening of the FY 2027 Community Benefit Grant application period. The timeline is as follows:
- Grant applications for FY 2027 open: December 10, 2025
- Deadline to submit applications: February 27, 2026, at 5 p.m. (PST)
- Award notifications sent: Late June 2026
- FY 2027 grant year: July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027
Each year, our Community Benefit Grant Program provides financial support to help community-based organizations, clinics and schools create access to quality healthcare throughout our community. For FY 2027, El Camino Health will use information from the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), as well as the annual Implementation Strategy Report and Community Benefit Plan to inform and guide the grant-making process.
In collaboration with other local health systems and the community, El Camino Health updates the CHNA every three years. The process involves interviews with local experts and focus groups with people from the community.
The five top priorities identified through this community-driven report are:
- Healthcare Access and Delivery (including Oral Health)
- Behavioral Health (including Domestic Violence and Trauma)
- Diabetes and Obesity
- Chronic Conditions (other than Diabetes and Obesity)
- Economic Stability (including Food Insecurity, Housing and Homelessness)

UPDATED Funding Request Guidelines for FY 2027 District Grant Applicants
In previous grant cycles, applicants were advised that incremental increases were more feasible than large variations in funding requests from one year to the next. For FY 2027, substantial additional funding to help mitigate federal funding cuts is expected to be available for the El Camino Healthcare District Community Benefit Grant Program. District applicants should consider their current funding needs for the application. Additionally, District grantees are encouraged to consider requests for new or innovative programming that may complement an existing El Camino Healthcare District funded program.
