El Camino Heath was honored to be the presenting sponsor for the 2025 Los Gatos Great Race at the end of August. This family-friendly, local tradition promotes healthy activities and supports charitable causes through the Rotary Club of Los Gatos — a win-win.
Runners from all over the region gathered at Vasona Lake County Park on Saturday, August 30, to compete in the 2025 Los Gatos Great Race. The Rotary Club of Los Gatos has organized the event for nearly 50 years. Once again, El Camino Health was proud to serve as the presenting sponsor of this fun, family-friendly tradition that promotes fitness and community spirit.
“My husband and I were runners at the event,” shares Cheryl Reinking, DNP, RN, Chief Nursing Officer at El Camino Health. “I enjoyed interacting with other members of the El Camino Health team and meeting new friends in our Los Gatos community.”
A one-mile fun run for kids kicked off the event at 8 a.m., followed by the 4-mile Great Race. After the races, participants enjoyed the Fun and Fitness Fair, featuring wellness booths — like our own Food is Health booth — and even an appearance from the San Jose Giants mascot.
The annual town race is a great way to get both kids and adults excited about health, while raising funds for causes that matter. All proceeds from the event benefit the many local and international charities the Rotary Club supports.
“El Camino Health’s participation in the Great Race is just one example of how we support community wellness beyond the walls of our hospitals,” says Reinking. “Events like these reflect our ongoing commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and giving back to the community we’re honored to care for.”
