Is 2026 your year to prioritize your health and wellbeing? Get started by incorporating a few of these easy tips into your daily or weekly schedule!
1 minute tip: Feeling stressed or anxious? Ask yourself a check-in question: “Do I need water, food, rest, or a pause?” Just identifying what you need can provide some immediate relief!
5 minute tip: Do a 5-minute mobility reset to quickly loosen up and relieve tightness. Start with a few neck rolls in each direction, then shoulder and arm circles, and end with figure-four stretches: lie on your back and cross one ankle over the opposite knee, then pull the supporting thigh gently towards your chest for 5 deep breaths.
15 minute tip: The new year is a perfect time to check and replace the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. If you haven’t checked them in a while, take time to replace them now so you and your family can stay safe.
30 minute tip: If an argument or chaotic day has left you feeling frazzled, emotional processing is a great practice to try. Even if you’re skeptical about such things, your health is worth investing 30 minutes to take your body out of stress mode. Emotional processing involves three steps: 1) Writing down or saying outline what you’re feeling, 2) Asking “What do I need right now?”, and 3) Soothing yourself with something comforting – music, curling up with a blanket or pet, drinking a cup of tea, or whatever appeals to you in the moment. You’ll quickly see that doing steps 1 and 2 mean that step 3 is more restful and restorative!
