The Longevity Revolution: Living Longer Better
May 13, 2025, Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts
How can we prolong lifespan and healthspan? Is there a strategic, scientifically-based approach that will help us live longer in better physical, cognitive, and emotional health? That is the topic of El Camino Health Foundation’s spring benefit, which will feature a conversation between Peter Attia, MD, author of the New York Times bestseller Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity, and Bob Rebitzer, Chair of the El Camino Hospital Board of Directors. Join us and learn about Dr. Attia’s pathbreaking approach to delaying or even preventing the chronic diseases that shorten most lives, as well as El Camino Health’s commitment to stay at the forefront of medical innovation and improve the health and longevity of residents in our community.
Proceeds from the evening will support a bold community health initiative to address prediabetes, a chronic health condition that impacts approximately 45 percent of adults (or 100,000 residents) in the El Camino Healthcare District. Prediabetes can lead to type 2 diabetes, a more serious chronic condition that increases the risk for cardiovascular disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, blindness, amputation, and kidney disease. More than eight in 10 people are unaware they have it. To prevent those critical outcomes, El Camino Health plans to offer a variety of digital and more traditional tools encompassing education, activities focused on lifestyle changes, health coaching, and prediabetes management, starting with a digitally based Food is Health program. With your support, these preventive health services will be offered to any resident of El Camino Health’s service area, even if they are not El Camino Health patients or healthcare district residents. El Camino Health has an ambitious goal of making our community the healthiest in America, and helping neighbors manage prediabetes is a first giant step. This prediabetes population health initiative is a project of the El Camino Healthcare District supported by El Camino Health.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The program begins at 7:00 pm and will be 90 minutes, including a question-and-answer session at the end of the presentation.
Dr. Attia’s appearance has been generously underwritten by the Behar Family in loving memory of Don Ehrman and Jerry Behar.
