Summer 2021 Health Tips

Take care of yourself and your family during the hottest months of the year.

1-Minute Tip: Apply SPF lip balm. During the summer, it's a no-brainer to apply sunscreen to your body, but applying sunscreen, or SPF, to your lips is commonly overlooked.

5-Minute Tip: Stay hydrated. As the temperature increases, your body exudes more sweat than normal, dehydrating you faster. Drink more water than normal to avoid heat sickness.

15-Minute Tip: Wash your swimwear. As soon as you've finished with water activities, throw your swimsuits and swim towels in the wash. Bacteria and mold can grow if damp swimwear is left unattended, so wash as soon as possible.

30-Minute Tip: Update your emergency preparedness kit. With droughts, extreme weather and fires, you need to be prepared. Update your 72-hour kit, or if you don't have one, create one! Fill your pantry with non-perishables and lots of water.
