June is Men’s Health Month — a month to increase awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men. This month’s health tips are just for men — easy things you can incorporate into your routine to live a healthier life.
1-Minute Tip: Take your medication. Many health conditions can be treated with medication if you take them correctly. Follow the directions and call your doctor right away if you have any problems.
5-Minute Tip: Reduce stress levels. Try meditating — even if it’s just for a few minutes — to help you let go of everyday concerns and relax. Try something called mindfulness meditation, which can help you relax by focusing on your breathing.
15-Minute Tip: Improve your sleep health. A quiet, dark and cool bedroom promotes good sleep, so take some time to make sure these conditions exist in your bedroom. This includes turning off electronics for at least 30 minutes before bed.
30-Minute Tip: Switch to a heart-healthy diet. If you haven’t heard of the Mediterranean diet, now is the time. The delicious meals and foods included in this diet can help keep your heart healthy.
