March Health Tips

March 2020 Health Tips

Get back to the basics this month with these healthful lifestyle tips that you can apply to your everyday life.

1-Minute Tip: Roll your ankles. Take one minute to roll your ankles in full circles, varying from clockwise to counterclockwise. Your ankles constantly send messages to your brain about which muscles to turn on when you walk. The more your ankles move, the more information they send to your muscles, helping boost your balance and mobility.

5-Minute Tip: Diffuse with oils. The simple act of diffusing scented oils is an increasingly popular wellness trend that dates back thousands of years. Aromatherapy purifies the air and dispels negativity through holistic healing. If you’re looking to clear stagnant energy and restore balance in your life, this tip is for you. Just take five minutes to diffuse your favorite oil, sit back and reap the rewards.

15-Minute Tip: Boost your brainpower. Put down the technology and pick up a pen and paper. Writing by hand boosts your brainpower by reinforcing information as you jot it down. Take 15 minutes to reflect upon your day, set weekly goals or even draft a simple reminder list.

30-Minute Tip: Be barefoot. Research shows that the nerve endings in your feet benefit from the natural massage that comes with walking barefoot. While people with diabetes or nerve pain should be cautious about going sock and shoe-free (and we should all be careful about where we choose to walk without shoes), walking barefoot for just 30 minutes can reduce foot inflammation — especially if you work on your feet all day long!
