October 2014: Healthy Tips

1 minute:
Snack your way to a healthier cholesterol. Research has shown that people who ate two to three ounces of unsalted pistachios a day for four weeks increased their HDL cholesterol (the good kind) by 6%.

5 minutes:
Women, give yourself a breast self-exam. Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among American women. It takes only 5 minutes each month to give yourself a thorough self-exam to check for any changes.

15 minutes:
Take a power nap! You can get incredible benefits from 15 to 20 minutes of napping – it's good for alertness and motor learning skills and it's a better fix than a cup of coffee, which can actually decrease memory performance.

30 minutes:
Take a walk. The benefits of walking 30 minutes every day are tremendous. Gentle exercise can help improve your help, keeps your knees healthy, cuts anxiety, and strengthens the immune system.
