October 2015 Health Tips

Make sure to follow these tips to stay healthy and safe so that you can enjoy the holiday!

1-Minute Tip: Make sure you can be seen when you go trick-or-treating! Wear reflective vests, carry a flashlight, or stay in well-lit areas to ensure drivers and other pedestrians can see you.

5-Minute Tip: Using costume make-up on yourself or your children this year? Test it in a small area a few days before the holiday to make sure you don’t have an adverse reaction to it. This will give you enough time to come up with a back-up plan so your spooky costume isn’t derailed.

15-Minute Tip: Have allergies? Spend a little bit of time before festivities start identifying common treats and candies that contain any of the things you or your loved ones are allergic to. This will make them easier to avoid!

30-Minute Tip: Serve dinner before it's time to go trick-or-treating. A healthy meal with enough protein will keep you, and your kids, full and keep everyone from gorging on Halloween treats.
