Looking to add more protein to your diet, but tired of consuming too many protein shakes? Try this quick and easy microwave mug cake for a delicious treat that’s a whole lot more satisfying than just gulping down a drink!
Ingredients:
- 1 scoop of protein powder (20-36 grams, depending on type of powder used)
- 2 Tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa power
- 2 Tablespoons of almond flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ - 1 Tablespoon of sugar (optional – many protein powders don’t need any additional sweetener)
- 1 whole egg
- 3-4 Tablespoons milk (any kind)
Directions:
- Whisk dry ingredients together until completely combined and free of lumps.
- Mix egg and milk together until completely combined, then add to dry ingredients and mix just until combined.
- Lightly spray a mug with non-stick cooking spray and pour batter in.
- Cook for :45 seconds in the microwave for a cake with a texture of molten lava. For a firmer cake, bake a full minute.
