Maternal Outreach Mood Services (MOMS) Program

The MOMS Program is designed to help you find the joy that motherhood can bring by helping you through many of the mental health challenges that come with being a new mom. A collaboration between maternal health services and the Scrivner Center for Mental Health and Addiction Services, this outpatient program provides you with education, counseling and evaluation in a supportive, nurturing environment.

Our caring staff includes psychiatrists, clinical nurse specialists, marriage and family therapists and more who have expertise in pregnancy, postpartum and maternal mood disorders. We offer individual, partner and group counseling and cover topics that are especially valuable for new mothers like you, including:

  • Communicating with your partner and family
  • Coping skills
  • Mother-baby bonding
  • Self-care
  • Setting expectations
  • Stress management

If you need additional support, your provider may refer you to our inpatient women’s specialty unit, a safe place to treat perinatal health disorders. We also offer partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient programs as recommended by your care team.

  • Feeling concerned or ashamed about caring for your baby
  • Negative thoughts about your baby or worrying that you’ll hurt them
  • Trouble sleeping
